Information for Pet Owners

The specialists at OSVS see patients by referral and by appointment only. If your veterinarian suggests
that your pet see a specialist, please call to make the appointment. Ask your veterinarian which service
you should be seeing: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Oncology, Exotics or Ophthalmology. If your
veterinarian is not sure which service  is appropriate, please ask him/her to call us to discuss the case
prior to making the appointment. Please call to make the appointment during normal business hours
(8am to 5pm) so that we can contact your veterinarian if we have questions.


It is important that your veterinarian provide any recent medical history or test results. We recommend
that the medical record and all laboratory results be faxed to OSVS by your veterinarian.  Alternatively,
you can obtain copies and bring them with you to your appointment. If x-rays have been taken, please
obtain the x-rays from your veterinarian and bring them with you to the appointment.

After your pet has been examined at OSVS, your veterinarian will receive a faxed copy of our medical
record, including the plan for diagnostic work-up and treatment. Your veterinarian will be kept apprised
of the progress of your pet's care and will likely become involved in follow-up care.
