Specialty Pet Services - Radiology & Diagnostic Imaging

Ocean State Veterinary Specialists offers the following Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging services:
  • Ultrasound (cardiac, abdominal, neck, tendon and pregnancy evaluation)
  • Ultrasound-guided biopsies and aspirates
  • CT scans
  • MRI
  • Contrast studies
  • X-ray film interpretation
  • Penn Hip and OFA evaluation
  • Radioactive Iodine therapy

The radiologist is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR). Our radiology department performs a variety of procedures including radiography (xrays), ultrasound, and CT scanning. Ultrasound-guided biopsy procedures allow non-surgical biopsy of internal structures to obtain a rapid, noninvasive diagnosis of many conditions. The radiologist reviews all radiographs taken in the hospital and is available for formal review of radiographs taken by other hospitals. Specialized radiographic procedures for hip dysplasia (OFA and PennHip) are available as outpatient appointments. The radiology department also offers radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroid cats. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is available on site Monday – Saturday. We’re conveniently located for all of Southern New England, including Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
