24-Hour Emergency Veterinary Services
We hope you never need us, but if you do—it is good to know that the emergency team at OSVS is ALWAYS here and ready to help your pet.
Ocean State Veterinary Specialists is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide the highest quality emergency care for your pet. There is always at least one doctor in the hospital to treat emergency patients. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, which allows us to get answers quickly and at any time of day. We also have the staff and facility to be able to perform emergency surgery and treat almost any medical or surgical emergency.
Pets presented to the emergency service are seen by one of our emergency doctors, all of whom are experienced and capable of handling emergency situations. The specialists on staff do not typically see emergencies, but are available during normal business hours to consult with the emergency doctors and provide support for diagnostic work-ups and treatment plans.
We don’t just care for dogs and cats—we manage urgent care for ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, birds, reptiles (including turtles), and other exotic pets, too. Our doctors and technicians handle emergencies for many different kinds of pets and have access to a board-certified avian/exotics specialist for consultation on especially complex cases or when a rare species is involved.
